Capturing Student Learning

Technology can transform the way we interact with our students.  Below are tools you can use in many ways to capture student learning and give meaningful formative feedback on progress.  This will encourage learning as a personalized process. Capturing learning with various tools provides opportunities for ongoing, authentic, specific, and descriptive evidence of the learning journey aligned with clear learning standards. Evidence may include documentation of conversations; observations, and digital documentation around key areas of learning; and student and teacher reflections.

Screencastify

Screencasting allows you and your students to record, annotate, and narrate a video of anything you can show on a computer screen .  There are so many applications of this technology!

Flipgrid

In its basic form, Flipgrid allows students to record video answers to questions and to show their understanding of concepts.  But it is more than that.  You can respond with videos and students can even make video comments on each other's work.  Check out this powerful tool!

Jamboard

Jamboard is an interactive whiteboard.  You can use it to teach and to have students each have a board to show you and their classmates their thoughts, understanding, and skills.  It works in real-time and can be used in many ways to benefit your students an ease your workload.

Padlet make web pages where students can add their own sticky notes containing video, pictures, text, ect. to share their learning.  It is simple to use but very powerful.  Need to survey your class--go to Padlet.  Need to make a webpage with quick links--go to Padlet.  There is so much you can do with this tool.

Microsoft Whiteboard is a digital whiteboard where people, content, and ideas come together. You can use for collaborating with your students to accomplish many activities in the classroom or remotely. Students and teachers can work collaboratively using their own devices.
