Dig deeper into understanding the shift in assessment practices as the ministry moves towards an updated reporting order. Using proficiency language is a paradigm shift that requires us to think differently about assessment. It encourages us to think about the ongoing growth and progress of our students as well as the level of independence in relation to their learning. SD22 is currently in Year 4 of our CSL Pilot. In the fall of 2021, the BC Ministry of Education and Child Care (ECC) reviewed the Draft K - 12 Student Reporting Policy with key stakeholders. This review prompted further refinement of the reporting order and the development of the Draft K - 12 Reporting Policy Framework that was released in June 2022 with a planned implementation date of September 2023. This new timeline allows for an additional year of planning in our district. Coupled with this, the CSL committee has continued to gather feedback and reflect on what is working and what requires further support.
Teachers in the district are encouraged to provide ongoing feedback on CSL by using this form.
