This four part learning series is meant to hand you a better paddle: stronger resources, richer pedagogy, authentic assessment ideas, and space to wrestle with the challenges specific to Indigenous Focused Courses. While this learning series is meant for teachers of Indigenous Focused Courses, it is open to anyone who wants to Indigenize their content and pedagogy. Session 1: Learning in Relationship with Self: "Who am I in this work?" - This session focuses on educator identity, positionality, and purpose. Session 2: Learning in Relationship with Knowledge: "What are we teaching and how do we know?" - This session focuses on curriculum resources, Indigenous ways of knowing, and authentic content. Session 3: Learning in Relationship with Students: "How do we create meaningful learning experiences?" - This session focuses on pedagogy and assessment. Session 4: Learning in Relationship with Land: "Learning from place." - A land-based gathering that models the kinds of learning we hope students experience. Please note that this is a multi day session, taking place on the following dates: Oct-08-2026, Nov-19-2026, Feb-04-2027, Apr-15-2027. You will receive a calendar invite for the first date, and will need to add the remaining dates to your calendar yourself.
