syilx-Okanagan Foundations #2- syilx Seasonal Rounds

This four-part workshop series is intended to promote an understanding of and appreciation for the language, culture, history and contemporary ways of the syilx people. Four separate sessions will be scheduled, each with its own registration: -1. nsyilxcn (Okanagan Language) for Beginners -2. syilx Seasonal Rounds: Past, Present, Future -3. Four Food Chiefs Core Competencies -4. captikwl- syilx Traditional Stories This session focuses on syilx seasonal rounds. syilx peoples are not, nor have ever been, nomadic. syilx life, past and present, is cyclical; travelling syilx territory harvesting plants, medicines, animals, and fish in a responsible and respectful way. Participants will be presented with text and video resources and activities you can use with your class.
