This learning series is intended to promote an understanding of and appreciation for the language, culture, history and contemporary ways of the syilx people. Sessions will feature syilx approaches to teaching and learning, and topics include language, stories, leadership and decision-making, connections to the land, and contemporary syilx ways. Four separate sessions will be scheduled, each with its own registration through the Learning App. Session #1. nsyilxcn (Okanagan Language) for Beginners. Participants will learn nsyilxcn greetings and names of plants and animals, and be provided with resources to use in their classrooms (text, images, and audio recordings).
