HERE ARE THE SOME COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

What generative AI tools are available?

Currently, teachers have access to the enterprise version of Microsoft Copilot.  Magicschool.ai and Khanmigo provide preset generative AI teacher tools that focus on specific tasks. 

What generative AI tools are available for students?

Currently, students don't have access to an approved generative AI tool such as Copilot or Gemini.  Teachers are able to use the approved student tools from Magicschool.aI which can accomplish a lot of current pedagogy using generative AI such as idea generating, text leveling, proofreading, etc.

When will we have Copilot and Gemini AI tools for students?

The Tech Department in conjunction with partner departments at SD22 are working actively to get both the technical aspects ready for deployment along with preparations for pedagogical use.

What about other AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity?

None of these AI products currently offer an education or enterprise version that would make them compliant with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

How can I integrate AI into my pedagogy?

There are many ways to learn where AI can be a transformative technology to help students learn.  Contact your friendly Technology Innovation Coordinator, have a look at the artificial intelligence page on this website, and check out places such as ISTE, and FOCUSED.

I want to try a new AI webtool with my students.  What do I do?

Before trying a new tool that isn't on the approved list you will need to go through the privacy impact assessment process.  You can find that information HERE.

What about students cheating using AI?
